Kyoto day 2

We woke up well rested. Today's plan was to hire bikes and explore more of the city.
We ate a nice lunch after walking around downtown and Gion for a while. Bikes and music had bikes for rent for 500 yen, about 4 euros, for one day. It took us about 30 minutes to ride along the Kamo river to Fushimi Inari-Thaisa. This is a Shinto shrine in southern Kyoto with several kilometer long walkways with thousands of torii gates. A nice way to spend the afternoon with pleasant fall temperatures. As we were descending the sun began to set and the walkways were lit up. Later in the evening we wanted to go out to have a couple of drinks, but the jet lag got the best of us and we turned in at midnight.
