Zhangjiajie National Forest - Day 2

We woke up to a beautiful morning, the sun was shining and the temperature was perfect. Heading to the entrance we decided to do a walk along the White Whip Stream. After walking for a couple of hours we decided to take a "shortcut" to the top through some old out of use path. This did not turn out to be our best idea ever.. The path was riddled with large spiders, nearly the size of a fist, luckily I had my walking stick and it turned out to be a great spider crusher. We climbed steep stairs that had over 4000 steps almost straight up. Others of course just take the elevator up but this was much more fun. Exhausted at the top we flagged down a bus and took it down the road. By chance we ended up by a very nice walk way around some of the peaks. The walkways were attached to the side of the peaks and looking over the edge you had a 350 meter drop straight down. But looking out you had stellar panoramic views of the distinctive peaks of Zhangjiajie Forest. When the sun started setting we decided to head back. We caught a bus to the Bailong elevator, the worlds longest outdoor elevator, and rode it all the way down, much more comfortable.. After walking for a total of 12 hours non stop we decided to call it a night and headed for the hotel. Tomorrow we will be heading for the ancient town of Fenghuang by bus. Can't wait to get going.
